Blue Valley North High School is one of five currently operated high schools in the Blue Valley School District of Overland Park, Kansas. The principal is Dr. Carter L. Burns Jr., and the assistant principals are Bob Duncan, Mark Dalton, Mickey Masterson. Overland Trail Middle School and Leawood Middle School are the two main feeder schools to Blue Valley North.
The Blue Valley North Mustangs are rivals with Blue Valley Northwest Huskies;[citation needed] the two schools share the District Athletic Complex (DAC) for football, soccer, and baseball games. The Mustangs also rival the rest of the Blue Valley High Schools, the nearby Shawnee Mission School District, and the Olathe School District through the Eastern Kansas League.[citation needed]
Of top 1,000 public schools rated by the number of Advanced Placement or International Baccalaureate tests, BVN is rated #642 from the top.[1]
