Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Blue Ridge Virtual Governor's School is a governor's school program available to most counties in Virginia along the Blue Ridge Mountains. It emphasizes technology, science, and mathematics. Schools from each participating county receive applications and select the top fifteen for that governors school class. Blue Ridge Virtual Governors School students take a different class of BRVGS material every year, in most cases, freshmen take history, sophomores take bio-technology, juniors take math, and seniors are interns. Applicants must apply in eight grade for their entire high school education. Students that do not pass the BRVGS class are taken out and the next person on the applicant waiting list takes his/her place.
