Blue Ridge High School is a 1A school with one hundred and seventy-eight students, located in the scenic town of Blue Ridge Texas (33.299, -96.401); with a physical address of 11020 CR 634 Blue Ridge TX 75424. Blue Ridge’s acting principal is Michael Seabolt and the current Superintendent is Todd Lintzen.

Football: Blue Ridge high school has a football team that never gives up and has the unwavering will to be better than the rest. In 2007-2008 Blue Ridge won the honor of saying that they had the perfect season. The head football coach is Joe Watson who led his boys into all of the games and was proud of them no matter the outcome.

Tennis: Vada Harrel is the tennis coach at Blue Ridge high school, she has coached tennis for four years. Vada single handedly created and worked the tennis team into the shape that it is.

Basketball: The basketball team is coached by Lorenzo Hernandez who has recently taken the position of head basketball coordinator. With this only being his first year to coach basketball the team did surprisingly well. Britt Brooks and Robert Todd were awarded second Team All-District selection.

Powerlifting: Out of all of the sports that Blue Ridge participates in powerlifting is one that we are known for. Blue Ridge has students that qualify for state every year. In 2007-2008 Mike Lander and Halie Agan went to state. Mike Lander tied for first in the weight division 220, and Halie Agan placed sixth. Kevin Wiggins has been the Powerlifting coach for the past three years and plans on staying on for many years to come.

Softball: The softball team is coached by Coach Henderson and Coach Watson, both veteran coaches. The softball team has had a lull in the winning that usually partakes every year in the spring time. The Lady Tiger Softball team got to playoffs in the 2006-2007 season. In 2007-2008 they did not.

One Act Play: Blue Ridge’s One Act Play has been directed by Linda Mahan and Linda Crane for roughly the last twenty years. While both directors swear that they will retire it is a common fact within the One Act Play members that they will be directing One Act Play until the day that they die. Blue Ridge performed “Bury the Dead” by Irwin Shaw. Blue Ridge advanced to the area competitions two years running.

Blue Ridge Tiger Band: The Blue Ridge Tiger Band is relatively new; the band was founded in the 2002-2003 school year. Jonette Monaghan is the founding instructor. She took the task upon herself to mentor the students new to band, while she is still instructing students she now has an assistant to meet with the growing number of students. Blue Ridge hired Todd Modgling in 2007.

Golf: Golf in Blue Ridge is coached by Rhette Box-also the schools assistant principal-This is Rhette’s first year coaching golf, Rhette took over the position from Coach Colvert. The golf team made it to regional this year; which were held in Stephenville.

Track: Blue Ridge is an active participant in track sports. This year Britt Brooks, Mike Lander and Tori Anderson advanced to District, results on their competition are still pending. The Track team is coached by Angela Clay, Greg Morrison and Kevin Wiggin.
