blueMarine is an open source photograph management application designed to support a digital photographer's workflow. It is developed upon the NetBeans / OpenIDE platform.
[edit] Features
The blueMarine user interface is similar to that of Apple Aperture and Adobe Lightroom. It supports all the major photographic formats (JPEG, PNG, TIFF) as well as many vendor specific "camera raw" formats (NEF, CR2, PEF, ORF, SRF, CRW, MRW) and the Adobe proposed standard DNG.
blueMarine can import photos from an external storage or camera and let the user to organize them freely. The user can assign tags (both preset and user-definable) and perform queries by different criteria. Photos can be organized by Galleries and Trips. blueMarine also provides support for geotagging and is able to display maps with geotagged photos in an embedded viewer.
The software is expandable via a plugin system.
