The Blue-Legged Hermit Crab, also known as the Tricolor Hermit,[1] Blueleg Reef Hermit, Equal Handed Hermit, or the Blueleg Hermit is a popular aquarium hermit crab native to the shallow waters of the Caribbean Sea.[2] It has blue legs with red banding. Because of its coloration and because of its ability to clean up tanks, it is a popular, cheap aquarium specimen.[2] It feeds on green hair algae and cyanobacteria.[3]
