[edit] Chart Listings

I just saw on the Billboard 200 that it's currently at position # 22, so I added it there. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.162.37.23 (talk) 18:49, 25 April 2008 (UTC)

Nice! Seems like more people are listening to metal nowadays. Hopefully they're in it for real, not just because this is a rather hyped album. #22 on the Billboard 200 is impressive! Last I checked the charts, this album was somewhere in the 40s, so it's gone up! Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 14:04, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

[edit] "Jeff Waters's solo"

"Jeff Waters of Annihilator announced on his tour with Bodom that he will play a solo on the new album, unfortunately this did not happen."

On his tour with Bodom? There was no such tour and is there any source that he really said that? If you can't prove it, then I'm gonna remove this part. Abtreibung (talk) 16:14, 19 January 2008 (UTC)

Actually there was a tour, Annihilator, Trivium and COB did tour recently —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.155.106.243 (talk) 02:41, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

No there wasn't a tour. There was a Trivium/Annihilator tour and in Helsinki, Finland Alexi was a guest musician on stage. Check out sites like Scythes Of Bodom (Murder Archives) for more info on that. Abtreibung (talk) 11:35, 24 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Banned from heaven length

The article says 5:05 but if you listen to it on myspace it ends at around 4:35ish —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.144.112.121 (talk) 20:55, 30 January 2008 (UTC)

-I have the album and Banned from Heaven is 5:04 Jmodum90 (talk) 21:00, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

There might be more than one verison of the song floating around on the Internet. It would be best to wait until the album comes out, so the real lengths of the songs can be known. Dark Executioner (talk) 19:07, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

- It is 5:05. 216.209.117.86 (talk) 19:11, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Leak

Seriously, how is this encyclopedic, at all? EVERY album nowadays that is in some way shape of form "anticipated" leaks, even if it is mere days before, or in this case a month before the release. I just don't see how it really belongs on the page. -- Shatterzer0 (talk) 04:42, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

I agree, this is exactly what I've been trying to explain. And scene release? that would also need a citation. The only time leaks can be added, is when the label or band comments about the leak. −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 08:04, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
Well, I agree that it's not too useful as information, but there is no questioning that the album has indeed leaked - just check any torrent site. Personally, I'll be buying it so I won't download it... Dan (talk) 14:05, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Another leak can be found at a game site here. Search the song database for bloodrunk. It's in the game already. (I've played it) Undeath (talk) 06:01, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
It is settled. I knew I saw something on it and here it is. −₪ÇɨгcaғucɨҲ₪ kaiden 19:56, 6 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Huh?

Extreme power metal, pff please.. ¬¬ —Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.74.71.133 (talk) 23:45, 25 February 2008 (UTC)

It's more accurate than melodic death metal... perhaps the latter describes COB's earlier style better, but their style lately is more "extreme power metal" than "melodic death metal". Dan (talk) 04:03, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Actually I believe this tag should be placed on Bodom's page and on the albums preceding Are You Dead Yet?, but aftere hearing the released singles and seeing the blooddrunk video, this falls more under melodic death metal, and though they are from Finland, it bears extreme resemblance to Swedish death metal.--Gmunnywhiskers (talk) 01:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
Bloodrunk doesn't seem to be power metal to me. I'd go with swedish death metal or melodic death metal. Undeath (talk) 06:03, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

You are all overlooking a very important thing: Wikipedia is not based on the opinion of one person. Edit wars emerge from people just changing a genre simply because they don't think it's one thing or the other. We should just leave extreme power metal there until the album is officially released... because only then will we have a reliable source that will tell us what the genre is. Thanks, Dark Executioner (talk) 23:07, 25 March 2008 (UTC)

Actually, the source of the edit war you describe is adding and defending unsourced content. Your argument is, essentially, "We don't have any way of knowing if it is A or B. So rather than changing it to B, we should leave it as A." Pointless.
While you might or might not be able to source a genre for the band or for a released album, you can discuss it from a factual basis. Not so with an unreleased album.
My suggestion is removing the genre entirely until there is some basis, or including a much broader category. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 13:06, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

While I agree with you, Mdsummermsw... It's not like Bodom is gonna go softcore on us or anything like that. They aren't the kind of band that just randomly changes genres. I am planning on working on the article anyway, to improve it and whatnot. If you want to help, please join in. Thanks, Dark Executioner (talk) 22:54, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

Holy crap, good luck with finding anything. Google didn't return anything new or wasn't already stated in the article... Dark Executioner (talk) 22:59, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
I noticed your edit, which, IMO, is the way to go. Without the album to hear, there is no basis for deciding Melodic death metal vs. Extreme power metal vs. Power metal vs. Swedish death metal vs. Polka-infused cool jazz. What I was saying though, was not that this album will suddenly be heard in dentist offices and elevators when it comes out. I was saying was that a wider category might do the job. We know the band. We can safely say something more specific than "Music". They said it'll be thrashier than prior albums. We can be more specific than "Metal"... Or, your solution works as well. - Mdsummermsw (talk) 16:47, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

- The new album is more thrash than anything, guys. 216.209.117.86 (talk) 19:12, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] I have the album.

-I preordered the album and got it two days ago from Europe. Anything y'all want me to contribute since it won't be released in America for four more days? Jmodum90 (talk) 20:59, 11 April 2008 (UTC)

-I'd also like to say that the bonus track is called "Piilo Raita" and is a cover of "Ghostriders in the Sky". I don't think there are any more tracks unless they're incredibly well hidden. My MP3 ripping software only has 10 tracks. Jmodum90 (talk) 05:04, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

-I went ahead and added the bonus track to the song listing. I'm not sure how you guys think the page should look so just edit as you wish. Jmodum90 (talk) 05:13, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't think it needs to be mentioned because it's not an official name.Abtreibung (talk) 09:06, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
-That's the name my ripper software gave me so that's what I put. I figured it was official enough. Jmodum90 (talk) 22:17, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

-Well, the album comes out today so I guess y'all don't need my help anymore. Happy listening! It's a good one. Jmodum90 (talk) 13:03, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cover songs

I think we should put what country has which cover song. The only two I know is that the Creedence cover is the UK's, and "Ghostriders" is the US's. Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 12:08, 17 April 2008 (UTC)

Wow, 2 months down the road and nobody still has done this? The only reason why I haven't is because I still have no idea which country has which cover songs. Festering Rat Corpse (talk) 16:19, 4 June 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Hellhounds/Hellbounds

Will whoever it is that keeps doing edit wars please stop it? Now I'm confused as to what the song title is, and i'm sure the person who kindly said "dont trust your mp3s, buy the album" doesnt want to have to keep undoing a million edits 195.54.253.27 (talk) 19:18, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

The song is called "Hellhounds On My Trail" as can be verified by the group's official website at this location. Perhaps the time wasters who couldn't be bothered to buy the album can now stop changing the song name. LuciferMorgan (talk) 21:00, 2 June 2008 (UTC)

Yes I'm aware of it. It seems that a P2P version is labeled "hellbounds". And people tend to think it is true. Haxxiy (talk) 20:00, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
