[edit] Full of S***e
Was it intentional for Blogroll to sound like Bogroll, the British slang word for toilet paper?
When you think about how much crap you get on them it all begins to makes sense!!!
- That was also the first thing that struck me when I saw the word. Was it invented by a Brit? If so it might have been intended to put one over on Yanks who don't understand what Austin Powers calls "proper English". Lee M 12:30, 19 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- I suspect not. But the etymology doesn't matter - it clearly -does- sound like bogroll with those connotations and thus citation is not required. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.31.252.24 (talk) 14:27, 14 February 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Blogrolls - completely and utterly useless...
...in their current form. You visit a blog which happens to have around 30 (often more) links in it's blogroll. They have titles such as "all about george", "whitespace", "andy budd" etc. Absolutely meaningless and a complete waste of time. Why would I visit a blog called "all about george"? Who is george? Ok, I'll probably find out who George is on his blog, i don't doubt it but do I really care who he is? Likewise with "andy budd".. who is Andy Budd and spending time visiting his blog will add what to my life?
This is absolutely useless.
--> If you're reading a personal blog, you might be interested in the life of the person. So why don't you want to read something about his firends? And maybe someone knows one of the blogger's friends or his news sources, he can rate the blogger and suggest his interests. Bernhard Häussner--84.56.104.101 08:56, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
