Blossom Jackson was a fictional character in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders. She was played by Mona Hammond.

Blossom was a cheery inividual, who always looked on the bright side of life. She loved her family and loved being with her grandchildren most of all.

[edit] Blossom's story

Blossom was the grandmother of Alan Jackson. Originally from Tobago, she had come to Britain as a young child and grown up in East London. Her first marriage to Nathan ended after he deserted her, and she had spent the latter part of her life living with her common-law husband, Bill, until he died in 1993. She came to live with Alan and his common-law wife Carol at number 25 Albert Square in 1994, right after her flat in Wapping was burgled. Blossom was great-grandmother to Billy Jackson and although she wasn't blood related to the other Jackson children (Bianca, Robbie and Sonia), she loved them as if she were.

Blossom was a great support to Carol during her time in Albert Square, often providing a sympathetic ear when she needed a shoulder to cry on. She worked in Kathy Beale's café and had a brief romance with Walford Lothario Jules Tavernier, even moving in with him temporarily when the Jackon's house was damaged in a gas explosion. However, their relationship didn't progress into anything serious.

She later embarked on a more serious relationship with local barber Felix Kawalski. Felix was a Jewish Holocaust survivor, who had been separated from his family when he was just a child. Even though Felix didn't know where his family were or even if they were still alive, he had spent his whole life trying to find them. He eventually tracked his sister down in Israel, and after making contact with her, he decided to leave Walford to live with her there. He later returned for a brief visit to ask Blossom to move to Israel with him, and an overjoyed Blossom accepted his offer and left Walford in 1997.

Blossom has since returned to England and is living with Alan and Billy in Balham.[1]
