Bloomington High School South (sometimes BHSS or simply South) is a high school in Bloomington, Indiana. The school currently uses a schedule consisting of three 12-week trimesters. Each class period is 67 minutes long, except on Wednesdays when SRT (Student Resource Time, essentially a homeroom) shortens classes (excluding third period, during which lunch takes place) to 49 minutes.
For the fall of 2008, South and North will have another high school component in MCCSC, New Tech High School. The principal of New Tech will be Alan Veach, current South assistant principal. It will be housed in a former building supply company building.
Currently the English department is debating the merits of students using Wikipedia as a source in academic papers. The consensus so far has been that, while Wikis have their place, they are not credible sources for academic papers. They are also discussing the use of technologies, such as wikis, and their place in the curriculum.
