Sports offered include football, soccer, baseball, softball, golf, wrestling, basketball, volleyball, swimming, flag football, and track and field, along with club teams for ice hockey, lacrosse, and bowling. Boys' sports teams are called the Bloomingdale Bulls, and girls' sports teams are called the Bloomingdale Lady Bulls. Led by Coach Dave Tennian, the boys' soccer team was voted The Tampa Tribune's Team of the Decade for the '90's, winning state championships in '93, '95, and '98. They were ranked in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America/USA Today Top Ten poll in '93, '95, '98 and '99. During the regular season of 2004, they were ranked No. 1 before losing despite a 1-0 lead for the first 60 minutes scored by David McClelland in the state semi-final to eventual champion, Miami Sunset. Emily Janss, who played for the women's soccer team went on to star with the New York Power of the WUSA, starred for the Lady Bulls in the 90's. The women's team won a state title in 2001. The cheerleading squad has won several titles, and is striving for their fifth straight win at the Western Conference competition. They went to states for the first time in the 2007-2008 school year and won first place. The football team is below par, usually losing all but perchance three games. Chad Bratzke is the only B'Dale football player to play in the NFL, primarily with the Indianapolis Colts. After coach Corey Brinson's resignation after the final game of the 2007 football season, Bloomingdale hired Jason Stokes as the new head football coach.
