The Bloomfield Shopping Centre has now been running for over 17 years.
In August 2007 work was completed on a new two-deck car park and the expansion of three new stores. The first to open was Smyths Toy Store in September. Soon before Christmas 2007 Hannah and Brown, the popular department store opened. In May 2008, Mothercare opened in the final new retail warehouse.
In April 2008, planning permission was granted for another warehouse store and for another storey to be added to the two-deck car park.
The centre includes two major stores, Tesco and Marks and Spencers. There is also GAME, Argos, Phones4U and a recently built food court including Burger King, Subway and BB's Coffee and Muffins. The centre also offers free Wi-Fi through-out.
