Blog award
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A Blog award is an online award to vote for the best weblog. There are many different blog awards based on public vote and a few that are based on a fixed set of criteria and a panel of judges.
Various organizations have started blog awards with varying success. There is the Weblog Award as well as the Bloggies. The UK newspaper The Guardian ran a Best British Blog competition in 2002[1] and another in 2003,[2] but then stopped because of limited enthusiasm from the UK weblogging community and a few public boycotts. [3]. In 2007, the Greek Blog Awards[4] organized a public vote based competition, giving awards to 12 weblogs in different categories.
As a worldwide award, the BOBs (Best of Blogs) may be the most notable blog award.
