[edit] The Game
Each user in Blitz 1941 begins by choosing one nation(Soviet or Germany) just after creating his or her own avatar and a tank. After some minutes of a tutorial sequence, he or she can participate in the persistent world battlegrounds.
He or she gains experiences and game money (which is called credit) by destroying foe tanks or occupying foe military facilities. He or she then uses gained experiences and game money to improve parts of his or her tank or get more combat skills. The skills are stunning, repairing, sniping, fast reloading, calling air strike and so on. And he or she can buy more tanks among the tanks which actually existed (See German tanks in World War II or List of tanks of the Soviet Union).
The battleground consists of several regions, such as Bucharest, Danzig, Minsk and tens of others. Users whose avatar's nationality is Germany or Soviet endlessly battle for occupying them.
[edit] Development
Blitz 1941 is a proof that DirectPlay can be adopted to MMOGs. Blitz 1941 is an MMOG which overcomes the difficulty that every characters in the battleground can attack very wide areas.
The graphics of Blitz 1941 is DirectX 3D 8. The rendering system makes use of specular lighting, camera trembling and a particle system for explosion effects.
