Does this really merit an article separate from Bleak House? Don't get me wrong, this series changed my life. It made me pick up a book by Dickens for the first time, after years of resistance. But the book article isn't too long yet, and the series isn't notable on its own. If there's no reaction, I shall prod this. JackyR 00:32, 16 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Upgrade?

I don't believe this article is low importance. The 1985 series was ground-breaking in many areas, winning several BAFTA awards for design, and being nominated for several more. The direction was perhaps less slick than the 2005 blockbuster, but it included some jaw-dropping character performances from Bernard Hepton, Charlie Drake and T.P. McKenna, among others, and a memorable score by Geoffrey Burgon. The atmosphere and re-creation of claustrophobic Victorian squalor was hypnotic and bears re-watching even now. It deserves at least a full cast list and outline. Swiveler (talk) 05:14, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
