[edit] Presbyterians

Thanks for your understanding. Taking someone's list and wikifying a cut and paste is against the rules, but as you say, using that list as the basis for creating articles on the individuals and using it as a reference for their religion in a categorisation is perfect. --Steve (Slf67) talk 06:53, 7 March 2007 (UTC)

No worries. Blarneytherinosaur talk 00:30, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

I, Chris 73 hereby award thee the Barnstar of National Merit in recognition of your contributions to Australia

Well, since you usually don't turn down any barnstar, I just made a new Australian Barnstar of National Merit for your contributions to Australia related topics. Hope this helps you to come over this missed barnstar. -- Chris 73 | Talk 08:44, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Chris! I will cherish it. I can think of one or two people who should have one of these, so I'll hand a couple out myself (just as soon as I put it on my user page.) Thanks again. Blarneytherinosaur talk 00:21, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
You're very most welcome. -- Chris 73 | Talk 09:07, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] ACE Entry

I tried to edit some of the stuff on the ACE page. I think it is a little confusing regarding School of Tomorrow and ACE -- ACE is School of Tomorrow, School of Tomorrow is the "for profit" name they took on when Howard took them for-profit. Mrs. Howard (formerly Mrs. Howard that is, there is some scandal there) was in the process of taking it back to not-for-profit and renaming as ACE again. And for some reason the wikipedia won't let me stay logged in! Argh. User:Andsmi:andsmi

I wasn't aware of that. I thought ACE was the curriculum, and School of Tomorrow was the network of Schools that used it. Feel free to make changes as needed. Blarneytherinosaur talk 06:07, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Categorisation of Userboxen

I categorised mine. You might want to too, to make them easier to find

-- TimNelson 11:41, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

Cheers. I'll look into that once my ISP let's me back on to broadband speeds. Blarneytherinosaur talk 06:07, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Calvinism

We need more input on what should be in the Template for Calvinism. Please share your thoughts in the sections of the talk page starting with Template_talk:Calvinism#Barth_and_Reformed_Baptists. --Flex (talk|contribs) 16:54, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Australian Presbyterians

I notice you specify an interest in Australian and Kiwi churches. Is there any chance you could do the tagging for these categories (as listed on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Calvinism Todo list)? If not, that's fine, but if you could let me know, that would be great!

-- TimNelson 12:13, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

I've done them, plus a couple of others. Blarneytherinosaur talk 03:02, 27 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Calvinism news

Hi. I'm recommending to all participants in WikiProject Calvinism that they keep up with at least the News page ({{Wikipedia:WikiProject Calvinism/News}}) for this project. The methods I'd recommend for doing this are any or all of:

  • Add the abovementioned page to your watchlist
  • Include the page on another page you look at regularly; in my case, this is my user page, since I keep my personal "todo" list there. That would look something like:
News from WikiProject Calvinism

Last change: 2008/6/10

All the Calvinism-related news that is news from across the encyclopedia

[edit] Update

We have updated the look of the project and corrected some things like the collaboration to reflect the reality on the ground. Check it out and get involved!

[edit] Collaboration

  • The current collaboration is Calvinism
  • Nominate or vote for your favourite articles so that they can be the next collaboration; see Collaboration page for details.

[edit] Most important tasks

  • Collaborate on this month's Collaboration article.

[edit] Denominations

One more request; as you're interested in some denominations, could you:

  • Test out the Denomination articles section of the main page (ie. try it on one denomination, and see whether it works for you)
  • If changes are needed to the process, feel free to modify it
  • If changes are needed to the Denomination templates (which I suspect they are), again, feel free to do this (I'm using the Infobox on the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Australia page, so if you change things, test that that looks OK)

Again, if you can't, that's fine, but I figured it can't hurt to ask :).

Thanks,

-- TimNelson 04:37, 31 March 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Tim. I'll take a look. I'm going to suggest a few changes to the denomination template on the talk page rather than make them myself since I'm not too great with the coding. Blarneytherinosaur talk 06:07, 2 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tulip head image

Hi there. Thanks for contacting me about the above image. You can crop, rotate and upload the image. Just for courtesy, you may like to make a link to the original, and say that you did not originally take the image. Thanks, and Goodluck! --Ali K 01:31, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

[edit] George Reid (Australian politician)

Does George Reid (Australian politician) belong in WPCalvinism? I know he was Presbyterian, but did he do anything to help Calvinism/Presbyterianism etc? Thanks,

-- TimNelson 10:44, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Sorry Tim, I wasn't quite discerning enough with tagging the people in Category:Australian Presbyterians. I will go through them again and weed them out. Blarneytherinosaur talk

[edit] Meter

Hi. Just a note to let you know that your link to Meter (poetry) from Exclusive Psalmody was ... confusing :). The two, while bearing a superficial resemblance to each other, are actually quite distinct. The appropriate Wikipedia link is Hymn#Hymn meters. Normally I wouldn't mention this, but I figured that you might be wanting to make similar links elsewhere, so I thought I'd bring the correct material to your attention.

-- TimNelson 11:00, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Thanks Tim. I should have taken a closer look at the disambig page. Blarneytherinosaur talk 23:35, 24 April 2007 (UTC)

Hey, i noticed your revert on the Hale School page. Template:PSA Portal Best Wishes, Twenty Years 06:51, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

Hale School and other PSA schools are on my watchlist, but only because of a tenuous link. I only watch them to prevent vandalism. I have no interest in the joining the Public Schools Association Portal. Blarneytherinosaur talk 07:27, 6 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Brendan Lawley

Insertformulahere

I apologise for my vandalism on the Brendan Lawley page, but I know this person and he is not famous, nor has he ever played football for the Melbourne victory. Frustratingly, every time i attempt to correct his page or delete the untruthful matter init, someone restores it. Please assist me to remove what is a page based upon lies - putting wikipedias credibility in jeopardy. Thanks, Guycalledalex

[edit] Brendan Lawley

I must apologise, It appears I am a bad source in this matter. Having not spoken to Brendan for a considerable time, I called him recently to investigate. Apparently he has been representing the club as a training player, and I apologise for misleading you. If you could restore the article it would be appreciated. Regards Guycalled Alex —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.34.12.15 (talkcontribs) 11:01, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

I have no evidence that Brendan Lawley is notable. Whether he is a training player or not has not been established because we do not have any reliable sources. Even if I could take your word that he is noteworthy or that he is training with the Victory, I have no evidence that you are in fact User:Guycalledalex. If you are, I advise you to always sign in and sign your comments on talk pages. As it stands I am going to let the deletion process continue. (And I will decide what discussions remain on my talk page). Blarneytherinosaur gabby? 01:11, 25 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Australia national rugby union team

Im not sure how saying rugby union is a popular sport is a contention that cant be proveed is true. If you look at the Sweeney sports report which consistently gives the sport as having interest from 40% of the population. Plus rugby union has, i believe, the highest crowd for a football match in Australia in the last ten years with nearly 110,000 at the 2000 Bledisloe Cup match in Sydney. Hardly an unpopular sport is it? Soundabuser 02:15, 6 September 2007 (UTC)

I didn't say rugby is not popular, but measuring popularity is not easy. More people would watch a game of AFL (and perhaps even Rugby League) in Australia each week than Rugby. But that was not my contention.

One reason that I removed the words "Rugby union is a popular sport in Australia" is that it isn't actually about the topic of the article (which is about the national team not Rugby in Australia). I think, therefore, it shouldn't be in the opening paragraph. Also, a comparision will show that the opening paragraph flows much better now. [1].

Most importantly, it did not have a citation and I did not believe it could be cited, so I didn't bother adding a "citation needed" tag. If the Sweeny sports report contains information that backs up the popularity of rugby, it could be mentioned in the article (but as I said earlier, not in the opening sentence).

[edit] Brisbane Boys' College

The Brisbane Boys' College article received heavy editing today by unregistered users, which I noticed at WikiRage.com. The article may benefit from a good review. According to Wikipedia Page History Statistics, you are one of the top contributors to that page. If you have the time, would you please read over the article and make any necessary changes. Thanks. -- Jreferee (Talk) 07:36, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Australian Presbyterians

Hey Blarney,

A separate list sounds good to me, if the American's have one then Aussie's should have one too! I'll certainly help out with refs and stuff. Sorry if I got some of those 'notable Presbyterians' wrong, I just listed the bios under the Australian Presbyterians category because the list was looking a little bit sad. I'm also still learning about the Presbyterian church having been raised a Catholic (and Presbyterian educated) so please feel free to change anything I get wrong. Cheers! Loopla 05:55, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

Oh and while were on the topic of notable Presbyterians (or former Presbyterians), do you think Freda Whitlam is notable enough for an article, because I was considering starting one. Loopla 05:56, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Parish vs. Congregation

Do you have any references for the difference between a parish and a congregation you mentioned at Talk:Presbyterian polity?

-- TimNelson 23:41, 26 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't have one at hand, but I can have a look. Interestingly, my minister told me that the definition of a congregation was under discussion at the local Presbytery meeting this week, so he should have some idea where those terms are defined. Blarneytherinosaur gabby? 01:28, 27 October 2007 (UTC)

I've got one now, and am just about to add it to the talk page, and where appropriate, to the article. Blarneytherinosaur gabby? 05:57, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The Edwardses

Could you cast your two cents into the ring over at Talk:Jonathan_Edwards_(theologian)#Requested_move? I think your input might be valuable since you may be familiar with both the JEs under discussion and live outside the US and the UK. --Flex (talk/contribs) 21:34, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
