[edit] Australia national football (soccer) team

Regarding this edit, the "No." column is the shirt number of the player, not the order in which they were capped for the national team. See Germany national football team, Spain national football team, Argentina national football team, and many others. -- Chuq 12:01, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Ah, sorry - I didn't realise the caps/goals were changed as well! (Since the order was changed I just presumed the rows were re-arranged.) Yeah we should discuss this and sort something out, I'm heading off now but will take a look over the next couple of days. -- Chuq 13:51, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Images on user namespace

Hi, I'd like to let you know that you cannot show non-free images on your user namespace. There are a batch of these on your subpage, Interests, that will need to be removed to adhere to Wikipedia's fair use policy. Please let me know if you have any questions. —Erik (talkcontribreview) - 17:21, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] {{Stanley Kubrick's films}}

Please do not create a template to take over the existing {{Stanley Kubrick Films}}. Improve the current template instead. The way you've done it, there is excessive whitespace to the right, and the increased height and colors detract from the article. Is there any reason you chose those specific colors? –Pomte 18:05, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

I personally don't care much, but there is an effort to standardize navboxes so they don't look too different across all articles. {{Navbox generic}} is useful for this purpose, and you can use it to avoid the coding for all the table cell styles. There's not really a need to revert unless someone voices concern over it. I've redirected the template and updated the old one to your version, so the edit history can be tracked. –Pomte 23:13, 30 May 2007 (UTC)

Please stop creating these duplicate templates. The layout of the original templates is consistent for a reason, so if you believe it needs to be changed, a good way to propose changes would be to start a discussion on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Films. Thanks, Prolog 14:25, 1 June 2007 (UTC)

Stop, stop, stop! Besides {{Stanley Kubrick's films}}, you created

You really should take a look at Category:Film director templates before adding new templates. --Fred Bradstadt 18:35, 4 June 2007 (UTC)

Seeing that you haven't replied to the above messages in the last 3–4 days, but just continued to implement your own templates and substituting them for existing ones, I'm considering substituting your templates with redirects to the "old" version of the templates. --Fred Bradstadt 18:40, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Mate, calm down, I have stopped. If it's really that bad I won't ever make another template again. I promise. Really all I was trying to do was make it easier to read. That is all. Isn't that what we're all trying to do? Make Wikipedia a better place?
Anyway, do what you like, delete them, re-direct them, whatever. I won't get in your way. Blackjanedavey 04:57, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for your reply, I’ll try and calm down :-)
I’m not saying that you shouldn’t ever contribute with a template again, but when there is an existing template that people have been contributing to over time [1] you shouldn’t just create your own [2] and substitute all instances of the existing template for your new template [3]. Instead, go ahead and edit the existing template — that way it’s much easier to discuss, revert, or even accept :-)
Best regards, Fred Bradstadt 08:12, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Proliferation of flags in infoboxes

Please do not ad a myriad flags to infoboxes as you did to Michael Zullo. Please read Using too many flags and WP:FLAGS in general. If you feel you want to discuss it please feel free to discuss it WikiProject Football.FifaEditor (talk) 10:17, 27 November 2007 (UTC)

Righto. I'll fix it. Blackjanedavey (talk) 15:22, 27 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. FifaEditor 05:43, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

Yeah I added all those flags cause I saw them on one page and thought it made the club info look better and was easier to see what country the clubs were from.. This was before I realised that there was a policy against the overuse of flags (who knows why...) Anyway, yeh I can remove them, not a problem. I can't say I know of the top of my head who won the awards, but I'm sure I could probably dig it up. What do you need it for? Jared Wiltshire (talk) 03:41, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Fixed those flags up. As for the awards, I couldn't find anything about the 2005-06 season only a "supporters choice" sort of awards. Links - [4] [5] Jared Wiltshire (talk) 10:04, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Kevin Muscat

Hey there. Interesting changing his height from ft/inches to metres etc. I presume Oz works on the metric system. Muscat played most of his career in England, which is, I guess why it was in imperial. Not sure if MOS 'permits' it, but I suggest Muscat would be a good case for utilising both. --Dweller (talk) 14:27, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Ah. Excuse my obscure reference - I didn't realise you were as new as you are. (That's a compliment). See WP:MOS - it's the 'Manual of Style'. Basically, units used should be consistent within an article (so, for example, all in Centigrade, or all in Fahrenheit, not a mix) and the choice of what's appropriate should be based on the subject matter. In Muscat's case, there's strong arguments for both imperial and metric. Metric because he's an Aussie. Imperial because most of his career was spent playing in England. That's why I suggested it might be worth using both. --Dweller (talk) 14:36, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

Ignore me. I just noticed that the infobox template already does this and the height is already there in both systems. --Dweller (talk) 15:12, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Footballer articles

I've reverted the edits you made to a couple of articles recently (Adam Federici and Oliver Bozanic) as the edits you made moved the article away from the established Manual of Style (MOS), which you can find at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Football/Players. Please could you familiarise yourself with the MoS before making further edits? I'm happy to answer any questions you have - just leave a note on my talk page. [edit] {{AUS fb state Qld}}

How's that look? It might be a bit messy but all of the divisions are still there. Bongomanrae (talk) 04:34, 17 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Magritte

While I think your infobox is really good, I'd like to see a lead image, and I was a little uneasy about the gallery being five wide. I added the infobox again with a lead image. Thanks, Modernist (talk) 12:08, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Cameroon game

Where'd you find out about the Cameroon game? I do recall you added the Singapore game to the 2008 page before it was announced too ;D Jared Wiltshire (talk) 01:35, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Ah ok. I'm not sure what formation the Chinese played in so all their players are listed as midfield, defence, forward etc. Jared Wiltshire (talk) 07:02, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] David Dodd

Regarding your comments on my talk page.

  • "...all players signed to an A-League club have their own page regardless of how many games they're played"
    • This is not true. All professional athletes can only have articles if they have played in a fully-professional league per WP:ATHLETE.
  • "...there's a very high chance they'll play at least one game in the upcoming season."
    • See WP:CRYSTAL. We can't say for certain if someone will play, and therefore they can't have an article until they have.
  • "...all the work already done for his page will have to be redone"
    • Aside from being an invalid argument (it's not an excuse to keep it), the article can be restored in its current form by an administrator such as myself if/when he meets the criteria.

Hope this clears things up. пﮟოьεԻ 57 18:54, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

As fare as I'm aware, there is only one fully professional league in Australia, i.e. the A League. Which other league are you talking about, and can you provide evidence to support your claim? пﮟოьεԻ 57 14:24, 30 May 2008 (UTC)
