[edit] My Userpage

It looks wonky on Firefox, but on IE it's fine, I've been going about seeing if anyone can fix it, and I thought you might be able to help me out and make it so it looks good on Firefox and IE. Cheers! Tyler Warren 22:37, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

For me, the text on the left side overlaps on the right. Maybe it's a FireFox option? Is there a WordWrap or something option I should turn on, so as to stop the text overlapping? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tyler Warren (talkcontribs) 22:43, 15 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Template:Young British Artists

I hope you don't mind but I moved Karsten Schubert back to the galleries section. This list includes individuals synonymous with their galleries, such as Maureen Paley and Sadie Coles (even though the gallery names are slightly different eg Interim Art, Sadie Coles HQ). The list of advocates consists of curators and critics and one influential teacher. Rest assured that I'm not part of the publicity arm of the (evidently re-launched) Karsten Schubert Gallery, apparently responsible for recent rewrites of the Karsten Schubert article.--Ethicoaestheticist 00:45, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Birmingham meetup

Hi there, I noticed you put your name down as interested in a Birmingham meetup. Just letting you know, the date is now set as Saturday 20th October. We really need input on where, and what time we will meet, so comments would be much appreciated on the page. Thanks. Majorly (talk) 13:06, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] User:Trixen block

Indef block for one Talk page message? That seems to be a bit much given that the editor has a history of (minor) positive contributions and no prior history of misbehavior. It's your call but that seems a bit excessive to me. --ElKevbo 22:25, 16 September 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Duplicate disambiguation pages

If you happen to know, can you tell me what the policy is on disambiguation pages that have essentially the same information? (Man, was that a poorly worded sentence!) The reason I ask is because of these two disambig pages: [[3]] and [[4]]. The latter, which is a more inclusive dab page, contains all of the information included in the former. Should I blank the smaller page and redirect it to the larger page? Your advice is appreciated. ---RepublicanJacobiteThe'FortyFive' 21:20, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I noticed you voted for the project deletion. Seems good to me -- though you missed deleting Talk:Governor Of Pakistan, which is currently a re-direct. Also... if you check the history, this has been going on for a long, long time -- I'm not really sure 24 hours is long enough, but that's up to you. Actually... since it has been going on for such a long time, perhaps semi-protection is in order? Gscshoyru 13:38, 30 September 2007 (UTC)
Deleted that one as well. I've got the page watchlisted, as it seems to be the only one this contributor is interested in, and if he starts again I'll do something more permanent. ELIMINATORJR 13:46, 30 September 2007 (UTC)

what exactly was the advertising? there was no link, no screenshot and nothing else that qualifies as advertising. all links were taken from credible sources according to wikipedia guidelines. Thanks for your message. All the electronic "packet" stuff swamps the older meaning on searching. Is any merging possible? I am intending to tidy up the various shipping meanings of "Packet", as I have just read a useful book about the Falmouth Packet service. Vernon White . . . Talk 21:41, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Packet (information technology)". Can it be done? Vernon White . . . Talk 21:45, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply - " think you might be right, actually - it would probably be better if Packet led to the dab page rather than the IT meaning, thus moving Packet to Packet (data) or something along those lines.". can you do this, please? I am not sure that I grasp the technology. Vernon White . . . Talk 20:31, 6 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Vandal

Re: User talk:Lizziebabes90 The user keeps adding the same thing, the number 2, over and over without any source. This has been discussed several times in the discussion page and in the previous AfD discussion about personal info of a living person and adding unsourced information. Even after warnings of adding unsourced material and warnings of vandalism, the user continued to do it. The user was previously warned on August 19, 2007 as well about adding unsourced material. Thanks. -- ALLSTAR ECHO 01:24, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

  • Controversial because, as was discussed in previous AfD of this article, the subject of the article has stated publicly about not wanting personal information out because of all of the threats on his life he has gotten. I know it's crazy but we had a long discussion about this in the AfD and subsequent discussions on the article's talk page. The consensus was reached to not include ANY personal information without sources. I was giving Lizziebabes90 leeway that I don't care as long as it's sourced. Thanks. -- ALLSTAR ECHO 01:49, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Don't say "guess what", please. It's rather sarcastic in tone and annoying. I didn't even add the statement you removed or care that you did, in fact I would've removed it myself. Excessive? I really don't see how. Every music sample is below the proper 10% threshold and every image, fair use or not, is properly cited. [edit] /joe francis

The Joe Francis page is continuously being edited with pieces about Francis' legal battles. Every time something else is added, even supporting, it is deleted. What stays is the negative. [edit] Articles for deletion/The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout!

Hello, could I please ask you to review your afd result of Articles for deletion/The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout!. You closed the debate with a "The result was Keep, but probably better is a Merge to band article (which needs heavy cleanup)" but I am unsure how you came to this conclusion. I am aware that afd is not a vote but consensus. However, of the five contributors to the debate, two were "delete", two were "keep" and one was "merge". The two delete contributions quoted WP policy and reasons to support their request for deletion. The two who proposed keeping didn't. One, the article creator, said: "How this band is non-notable is beyond me. How this album is non-notable is beyond me. And if info is hard to come by on the Internet, that absolutely cements the need for coverage on Wikipedia". This doesn't cite Wikipedia policy at all. And his final comments seem to support a deletion argument rather than a keep article (ie, the argument that WP should have an article because there's no other sources). The other keep proposer's argument was that the album was notable because the band was notable. I'm not entirely sure he is right about the band, but even if he was, I'm not sure that every album by a part-notable band would be notable simply because the band is. In any event this editor was concerned at the lack of sources for the article. The contributor who proposed merge did so by saying "I cannot see any strong reason for a separate page about this album". When all this is considered I conclude that the consensus of those who took part in the debate was "delete" because the arguments put forward by those who advocated this position outweighed those who advocated keeping. I'd be grateful if you could look again at your decision. Thank You. B1atv 07:00, 18 October 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Block/unblock of Andyr2

FYI, I saw the same report on AIV and edit-conflicted with the bot removing it after your initial block. My comment was going to be, "The account that is now blocked was blocked for being a "sockpuppet or single-purpose account" after some disputed editing on instant runoff voting. The single mainspace contribution so far by account, which was created before the block, is a good edit in an unrelated field. I see no reason to block. Leaving here for other admins to comment." [edit] JAMAA

I understand where you're coming from, and respect your opinion. I restored the page due to the fact that very few administrators have participated and shared their opinions in the deletion review (other than Metros, who indeed has a bias against me - He has literally "tracked my moves" and reverted them, often giving no justification or reason for his reverts). Hopefully, now that you've requested administrative review on my current version, this will start moving and will eventually get restored. The article obviously did not qualify for speedy deletion, but because of Metros' stalking of my edit history, he deleted it within minutes of its nomination for speedy deletion, without adding any discussion to the talk page or giving any warning to myself or others. This is absolutely an abuse of admin power, and not the first time Metros has shown such qualities. Rhythmnation2004 16:06, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Other admins have agreed at the deletion review that my deletion was valid. Another person agreed it was non-notable since he originally tagged it for speedy deletion. And no one but you has questioned the deletion. How this deletion is abusive boggles my mind. Metros 16:15, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
