[edit] Batch of Non-Notable WebComics

Achewood (edit|talk|history|links|watch|logs) - (View log)

Large batch of fanbase-supported webcomics that are unreferenced, lack in notability, are rife with original research, and are unverifiable. No comic with reliable source or assertion of notability is listed. About a third of the way through I have been asked to stop. However, I posit that all of these constitute original research and cannot be verified, violating our most sacred policies.  :( /Blaxthos 01:27, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Pause

This nomination is "paused" at the moment. An admin expressed concern about the viability of a large batch AfD, no matter how just the nomination may be. I expect a re-formed nomination will occur shortly. Sorry for the inconvenience. As to your question, I don't think that the Web Cartoonist's Choice Awards would qualify as a primary source, and I haven't done any research as to if there are reliable independant sources that would cite the award. I'm leaning towards no, but that's just my uninformed opinion. /Blaxthos 04:13, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WCCA and Notability

I would think that it might be good enough to meet the second point of WP:WEB. From the WCCA article: The WCCA represents a form of peer recognition since voting membership is open, only, to the sole creator, writer, artist (including colorists), or webmaster of an online webcomic. (Sorry. I am not sure if there's a better way to set that comment off. Please edit if you have a better idea.) In addition, it seems to be the only member of the category for webcomics awards. (I don't know if that's a good or bad thing.) I wonder what someone from the webcomics wikiproject would have to say... -- Ben (talk) 06:03, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
