[edit] Question about the water color

I cannot find any information on why the color is so blue. My German is limited. Can anyoe find out? Dtxn 17:50, 22 December 2006 (UTC)dtxn

Die Blauhöhle ist vermutlich zu einer Zeit entstanden, als das Blautal noch von der Donau durchflossen wurde, zum Zeitpunkt seiner tiefsten Eintiefung. Zu dieser Zeit entwässerte die Blauhöhle direkt in die Donau. Seit der Verlagerung der Donau nach Süden wird das Tal von der Schmiech, Ach und Blau durchflossen.

Der Name Blau stammt nicht von der Farbe des Wassers, er ist vielmehr ein Flussname aus vorgermanischer Zeit (idg.-kelt. Blava), so wie auch andere Zuflüsse der Donau wie Nau, Drau.

Blau is not meant as colour. It is meant as the name of the river Blau. The river blau is in the Blautal were the Blauhöhle is. Blau is very old Name given by the Teutons.
