[edit] GA on hold

This article will be put on hold (for 7 days) until these minor adjustments can be made :

1. Well written?: O.K.
2. Factually accurate?: Pass
3. Broad in coverage?: Fail (not broad enough, too technical)
4. Neutral point of view?: Pass
5. Article stability? Pass
6. Images?: Pass

Additional comments :

  • On average 50,000 trout are reared at Blagdon each year to stock this and surrounding lakes., is it possible to know who does this rearing of trouts? when was it done, is it done each year?
  • Could the Ecology section be less technical?
  • There is missing information on the construction.
  • What about the otter around the lake?

I didn't put this up for good article but have done some work on it:
  • trout rearing is done by Bristol Water - the inclusion of "each year" suggests that it is done every year which i believe to be the case
  • I don't understand the "too technical" comment about Ecology - is this because of the inclusion of latin names - this is considered good practice as animals & plants may have local names but the latin classification is universal.
  • what other construction information would you like that is available?— Rod talk 13:32, 24 September 2006 (UTC)
For the trout rearing, I agree with you but I had heard that they did this only once and that it still gives enough fish today.
For the too technical aspect, I think that adding more text to that part would give more to this section and would render it a bit less harsh in its reading, because of all the latin names (which is a good practise).
better outline the construction project as just by going through the internet I can find loads more information on that. (maybe 2-3 lines more would do the job).
everything else is fine and the additions you did to the text are already good. Just push it a bit more and it will achieve GA status. Cheers.Lincher 22:29, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Failure

Since nothing has been done since around the time the above note was left, I am ending the hold and failing the article.

Once fixed to Lincher's satisfaction, it can be renominated. Daniel Case 03:44, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
