[edit] Made Up Information
If this article is going to remain then it really needs a lot of work. For a start, where have all these numbers come from? Approx. 10,000 Xenians? What exactly is that number based on. The whole of Race X was destroyed...how? Is this article even needed, it could it be merged with a larger article in some form? Qjuad 05:46, 2 December 2006 (UTC)
Hmm, yes I suppose thats a really good point. I'll email Valve and see if they can give 'any' info on the matter. Otherwise it should just be deleted. Brad92 01:39, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- Not to mention:
- The results of the Black Mesa Incident were massive. The HECU who stormed the facility took enormous casualties, an estimated 400 dead, 500 wounded and a similar number missing in action (mainly due to the nuclear bomb). The relatively small inter-dimensional rift caused portal storms all over the Earth, 24.196.115.179 04:24, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Contest of Speedy Delete
I'm all for deletion of fancruft, or at least merging it, but I don't think it is a candidate for speedy deletion. This needs to be taken to AfD. --tgheretford (talk) 00:29, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
Look I say that if someone can re-work the information, and get rid of some of these statistics, everything should be okay. I mean I dont see a reason for deleting all of it. Lord of the Rings and Star Trek has their own battle articles. Brad92 11:36, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- All this information is already covered in Black Mesa Research Facility under "The Black Mesa Incident". This article does not add anything new, so its existence is unnecessary. Also, this article happens to include a lot of nonsense speculation (Casualty estimates? What are these numbers based on?) and some downright incorrect information (The Gene Worm was not in command of Race X, Race X wasn't working with the Nihilanth, etc). "Fancruft" is not listed on Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion. I have removed the speedy deletion tag. Merging anything useful from this article to Black Mesa Research Facility and changing this to a redirect might be a better answer. Angus McLellan (Talk) 01:26, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. There isn't any need for this article. Relevant information from this article (certainly not all of it; most of it seems based on pure fan speculation, at best) should be merged into the Black Mesa Research Facility. Qjuad 01:46, 3 December 2006 (UTC)
- I agree. In addition this article is quite poor right now in terms of style. There is an awful lot of repetition. Not to mention nonsense such as a paragraph which can be summarised as "the following people survived but some of them might not have".... Thermaland 15:56, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
