[edit] Naming

Shouldn't this page be named "Casa Preta"? Translating the name to english is like called Chute Boxe "Kick Boxing Academy" to my ears. hateless 17:00, 14 June 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind. Looks like they prefer calling it "Black House", according to the UFC 73 Countdown show. hateless 18:30, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

"Casa Preta" should redirect here as it does now, but the actual name of this MMA fight team IS Black House (the English words). Even in Brazil, the Portuguese equivalent "Casa Preta" is NOT used as the team name. The fighters themselves, and online sites originating in Brazil (which are written in Portuguese), always use the English transliteration "Black House".TurnMan 22:14, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fighters falsely linked to Black House Fight Team

Black House arose quickly in November, 2006 as a result of the breakup of the Muay Thai Dream Team and amidst rumored instability amongst several other top Brazilian MMA camps. As a result, a number of fighters were erroneously named as members of Black House who had trained with or had ties to legitimate Black House members.

Assuerio Silva is not a member of Black House. TATAME has reported that Assuerio claimed to have an open invitation to join that team. However, Assuerio officially trains at Total-Punch MMA Academy in Curitiba, Brazil.

Thiago Tavares is also not a member of Black House. Tavares trains out of Ataque-Duplo Murilo Rupp (a BTT affiliate) in Florianopolis, Brazil.

Paulo Filho is not a member of Black House. Filho is a close friend of member Anderson Silva, and has trained with Anderson on occasion. Filho has told World Fight that he would be open to joining Black House if he were invited to in the future. As of August, 2007, Filho has his own fight team.

  • From what has been mentioned lately both on Sherdog and in team interviews, it appears that Filho trains regularly with the camp now. In fact it seems that the status of Vitor Belfort is more a matter of contention now. Any sourced information with an update on both fighter's status would be appreciated. Sherdog Fight Finder can be slow to update it's information at times. Unak78 (talk) 08:32, 14 March 2008 (UTC)

Lyoto Machida also does not train at Black House. Source: Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.84.167.201 (talk) 15:27, 17 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Logo?

Has this team established a logo yet? I'd be interested to know if anyone hase seen it on the web. Unak78 21:59, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

There is a cool-looking one on a Black House website which is still under construction:

  • I think I found it. Thanks. Is this the one that you saw? It does look pretty cool. Unak78 (talk) 08:30, 14 March 2008 (UTC)
