[edit] Regarding the Kosovo region
As a few users here have already noticed, Kosovo is not an internationally/UN recognized country, meaning it should be treated as such, like other semi-independent regions, which are not shown on maps until their status is resolved. (Kazeunlimited (talk) 21:06, 5 June 2008 (UTC))
[edit] Kosovo = Northern Cyprus, Transnistria, etc.
Kosovo is NOT universally recognized by all countries or for that matter, a majority of countries. Not even the UN recognizes Kosovo as independent. The fact is Kosovo is like Taiwan. Recognized by a few countries but not by most.
For references, please check with prior UN resolutions on the matter. As for the recognition of Kosovo as an Independent and Sovereign republic by Wikipedia, if Kosovo is to be included in a map of European countries with other countries that enjoy full recognition, then we should include Northern Cyprus, South Ossetia and Transnistria on that same map, because those countries while in a de facto state of sovereignty, do not enjoy full recognition.
What I am asking Wikipedia to do is to be fair to all countries and NOT favor Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence as final fact just because the U.S. and their allies do. Again, if you want to include Kosovo as a country on the European map, then include Northern Cyprus, South Ossetia and Transnistria on that same map as well. Otherwise leave Kosovo off the map. It would be the fairest thing to do..--maddawg1967 17:34, 11 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Map of Kosovo
The newborn Republic of Kosovo should appear on the map. Please, draw the official border line.--Arber (talk) 13:53, 18 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Kosovo needs to be deleted
Kosovo is recognized as part of Serbia by 155 of the 182 member states of the U.N. --Tocino 19:23, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Kosovo is not an independant state
Wikipedia should respect the international law ,and therefore UN resolution 1244 which clearly say Kosovo is part of Serbia. Please delete the province from the map. Njemanja (talk) 13:47, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
