Blair Robert Hopping (born August 12, 1980 in Pukekohe) is a field hockey player from New Zealand, who earned his first cap for the national team, nicknamed The Black Sticks, in 2000 against Pakistan. A dedicated trainer, Hopping is widely accepted as a quick and reliable defender. He was named New Zealand Player of the Series for the 2003 Oceania Cup. The award recognised his contribution to the team from his position of left half. Hopping teaches Physical Education at Rangitoto College on Auckland's North Shore and coaches the school’s 1st XI. He plans to take 2006 off work to concentrate on his hockey career.
