Blackwing Studios

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blackwing Studios was housed inside the deconsecrated Church of Hallows in South-East London. It was most noteable for early Depeche Mode and Yazoo recordings in the early Eighties. The in-house engineer was Eric Radcliffe who worked on most of the early Mute Records recordings alongside Daniel Miller [1] Daniel Miller had discovered Blackwing when recording Silicon Teens. He had required a studio with a big control room where he could set up all his synthesisers. [2] Yazoo named one of their albums after the studio, 'Upstairs at Eric's'. [3]
