The Blackwedged butterflyfish, Chaetodon falcula, is a member of the Chaetodontidae.

Found in the Indian ocean from East Africa south to 27°S and east to Indonesia.[1]

Grows to a maximum of 20 cm long. The body is white with a series of narrow vertical dark grey lines and bright yellow and orange over the back, dorsal fin, anal fin and tail. There are two well-defined black saddles on the back.[1]

The Blackwedged butterflyfish feeds mainly on invertebrates.[1]

The Blackwedged butterflyfish is found on the reef edge and upper slope. Usually in current-prone habitats from 1-20 m depth.[1]
