Blackwater River, New Zealand

The Blackwater River is in the South Island of New Zealand, flowing into the Buller River between Westport and Inangahua Junction. The river was named due to the dark coloured waters the Māori discovered. Many large Māori ruins were found by this river.^{[citation needed]}
