The 1916-17 season was Blackpool F.C.'s second season in special wartime football during World War I. They competed in the Lancashire Section of a makeshift Football League. The season was split into a Principal Competition (thirty games) and a Subsidiary Competition (six games), the latter of which saw Blackpool facing only their closest of neighbours (Burnley, Preston North End and Blackburn Rovers). Blackpool finished 16th in the principal competition and 11th in the subsidiary competition.
Williamson was the club's top scorer, with ten goals (seven in the principal competition and three in the subsidiary).
