Blackman, Tennessee

Blackman is an unincorporated community in Rutherford County, Tennessee, United States, near the city of Murfreesboro. It is almost large enough to be designated a CDP even though the area does not have a government in place other than the Rutherford County government. Approxomately 5,000 to 15,000 residents live in the Blackman area. The community was founded in 1813.

Blackman is the site of three schools: Blackman High School, Blackman Middle School, and Blackman Elementary School. Blackman is partly in area code 37128 and partly in area code 37129. Many new houses, developments, and apartments are built every year in this booming town just west of Murfreesboro. Blackman is home of a few famous residences including civil war era houses and important people.
