Blackmagic Design

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Blackmagic Design is a video production equipment company that makes the DeckLink, the Intensity and Intensity Pro, and the MultiBridge Eclipse and Pro break-out boxes and video capture cards.

Blackmagic's philosophy is quoted as "delivering whatever it takes to give creative editors and designers the very best quality tools."[1] The founders have a history in post-production and engineering.

In 2002, the company released the DeckLink which made affordable editing of 10 bit video possible on a Mac. The company later expanded onto Windows and launched several more budget priced products allowing affordable editing of uncompressed HD with the DeckLink HD with Serial_Digital_Interface connections and then HDMI with the Intensity PCI-Express card and more recently, Component Video with the Intensity Pro card.

Their cards are compatible with Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and Sony Vegas.
