Black Hawk Middle School is a school in Eagan in the U.S. state of Minnesota. It is administered by Independent School District 196 and has approximately 1100 students in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. It was built in 1994 and is physically connected to Deerwood Elementary School. Graduating students normally go on to attend either Eagan High School, or Eastview High School. In May 2007, and now 2008 as well, it held a benefit for the Invisible Children in Uganda, Africa. Part of those proceeds also went to a school in Tanzania, where a staff member teaches in the summer. This event is known to the school as HARAMBE. The efforts of everyone involved were slightly recognized by the Pioneer Press, a Saint Paul newspaper.

[edit] Houses
Black Hawk is broken into houses that are named as follows: First floor 1T, 1C, 1S, Second floor 2T, 2C, 2S, and Third floor 3T, 3C, 3S. But they are starting a new tradition where the staff comes up with a theme at the beginning of the year and each house gets to vote for the name of their house that has to do with this theme. The theme for 07-08 was Minnesota. Some of the houses' names' were: Superior House, Wild House, House of Chill, and others.
