Blackdown Cadet Training Centre

142.46.8.6 (talk) 19:29, 9 June 2008 (UTC) The Blackdown Army Cadet Summer Training Centre is a training centre formerly known as the Army Cadet Summer Training Center Blackdown for Royal Canadian Army Cadets, and, since 2003, included the Royal Canadian Air Cadets, and Royal Canadian Sea Cadets. But as of 2007 Charlie Squadron may been dispanded due to Aircraft servicing and Basic Electronics are being moved to Canadore College and the photography course is being cut from the courses offered to Air Cadets. It is located at CFB Borden, Ontario, and trains approximately 2000 cadets each summer in 2-, 3-, or 6-week courses.
The following courses are available:
- Drill and Ceremonial Cadet Leadership Instructor course (CLI) based in Alpha Company; 6 weeks
- Adventure/Expedition Cadet Leadership Instructor Course (CLI)- Bravo Company; 6 weeks
- Air Technical Training Cadet Leadership Instructor Course (CLI)- Charlie Squadron; 6 weeks
- Cadet Leader Course (CL) - Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf Company; 6 weeks
- Basic Course - Hotel and India Company; 2 weeks
- The Blackdown Cadet Training Centre School of Military Music (Juliet Company); 3 weeks (Basic), 6 weeks (Cadet Leader and Cadet Leader Instructor)
- The Blackdown Cadet Training Centre School of Pipes and Drums (Kilo Company); 3 weeks (Basic), 6 weeks (Cadet Leader Cadet Leader Instructor and hopefully next year advanced music)
