Black earth may refer to:
- Terra preta, or terra prêta do índio, expanses of very dark soils found in the Amazon Basin, thought to be a product of indigenous soil management dating back as far as 800 BCE.
- Central Black Earth Region, of Central Russia, also famous for its fertile soil.
- Chernozem, a humus-rich soil with high nutrient content, found in certain areas of northern Eurasia and North America.
