Black Mountain, San Diego County, California

Black Mountain is a peak in the Peninsular Ranges of Southern California. The peak reaches 4,051 feet (1,235 meters).[citation needed] The mountain is in Cleveland National Forest, north of the town of Ramona. It is sometimes known as Big Black Mountain to distinguish it from the smaller Black Mountain in the City of San Diego, more specifically, Rancho Peñasquitos.

Black Mountain is home to one of the largest remaining tracts of Engelmann Oak (Quercus engelmannii) woodlands.
