Black House (Casa Preta) is a mixed martial arts fighting team and gym based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Opened on November 27, 2006, Black House was started by former Brazilian Top Team member and black belt Carlos Barreto, Jorge Guimaraes and Rogerio Camoes. Guimaraes acts as the team's manager and Camoes is in charge of the team’s training.[3]

Fighters on the team include Anderson Silva, Vitor Belfort, and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira. Most recently they have taken in former Chute Boxe Academy fighter Antonio "Nino" Schembri.

In addition to training fighters, the gym offers classes in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Savate, Muay Thai, boxing and wrestling. The facility features an octagon, a boxing ring and two dojos in the workout space.[4] [5]

[edit] Impending re-branding

Despite the team's recent success in the UFC with Lyoto Machida's undefeated record and the championships held by Silva and Noguiera, there has been much unrest due to non-competition related affairs. It appears that the team will be moving from their current location at X-Gym due to unresolvable disputes, and in a recent interview with Anderson Silva, he was quoted as stating that due to certain 'brand problems' the name Black House is likely to change in the near future following the move.
