The Black Hole Theatre Company is the theatre company of the University of Manitoba theatre department. It comprises students and faculty from the university. While they do have their own on-campus performance space, they often will use Winnipeg's Gas Station Theatre, located in Osborne Village for plays that are expected to have higher attendance.
Each year, the company will produce three 'Main Stage' shows, with a run of two weeks each, and five 'LunchBHAGG' shows, one act shows that are performed for free over lunch hours with one evening performance. All student participation in the company is voluntary, but some students can qualify for credit if they are enrolled in certain theatre and drama classes.
