Black Cherry X was a comic character created in 1985 by Edward Duffy while he was still working for the comic magazine 2000 AD. The limited series was a success but was discontinued after a dispute between Edward Duffy and the artist Sophie Sweenie. The pair collaborated again on other projects (Uni Life being the most successful).
The character's real name was Sam Wallis. Black Cherry X was an omnimorph, which essential means that she was able to change not only shape but also mass as well (as shown by a transfiguration into a cheesecake). It is not known if the shape she usually used was her original shape or if she had something to hide, as the series suggested.
