The Black-and-yellow Silky-flycatcher (Phainoptila melanoxantha) is a species of bird in the Bombycillidae family. It is monotypic within the genus Phainoptila. It is found in Costa Rica and Panama. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montanes.
