Blachly, Oregon
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Blachly is an unincorporated community in Lane County, Oregon, United States on Oregon Route 36 in the Coast Range. Blachly is three miles from Triangle Lake.
Before the Blachly post office was established in 1892, area residents received their mail at the now-closed Franklin post office.[1] The Blachly office was named for local resident William Blachly.[1] Blachly arrived in Oregon in 1854 from Illinois when he was 10 years old. He died on February 16, 1934.[1]
[edit] Blachly School District
Blachly is served by the single-school Blachly School District. Triangle Lake School is a kindergarten through twelfth grade school with an enrollment of about 100 students.[2] In 2006, Blachly was the only school district in Lane County to earn an "exceptional" rating from the Oregon Department of Education at all levels: elementary, middle school and high school.[3]
Triangle Lake sports teams are known at the "Lakers" and the school colors are green and gold.[4] Triangle Lake High School competes in the Mountain West League of the Oregon School Activities Association.[4]
