[edit] Identities of these two airliners?
According to this antique postcards site, one of the aircraft was named Wilbur Wright and is identified as having crashed. The most widely-circulated photo of this type, however (see here and here) clearly has a different name on the nose - I'm guessing Clément Ader, but can't quite be certain.
Secondly, planecrashinfo.com gives the registration of the 155 that crashed in August 1926 as F-AIEB, and the FAI gives the registration of the record-setting 155 as F-AEIB. Presumably this is the same registration, but one of them has some letters jumbled. Of course, the FAI has better provenance, but then this document gives F-AEIB as the registration of a Lioré-et-Olivier H-6.
It would be nice to sort this out! --Rlandmann 04:16, 3 July 2007 (UTC)
