[edit] Reason for my help request...
I'm sort of left in a quandary. In 1972 while I was a computer programming student we were assigned various exercises to help us learn programming and asked to find unique (our own) ways of solving a problem. I would hardly call this “original” research. But as a result some of us came up with some pretty unique solutions – some better and some worse than others. I came up with a way to sort numbers that was very, very fast and so no big deal I got a better grade but after that it just was put on the shelf. In all honesty I figured that I had probably just read about it in a book and while I was trying really hard to find a better way to do a sort that it sort of just took me in that direction.
Anyway to make a long story short I was going through old papers and programs to see if there was anything that other people might be able to use or enjoy that I could write up as a Wikipedia article and I recalled the Rapid sort. Actually I just named it so it would have a name that it could be called until I found where I had read about it or whatever.
So anyway I remembered different times like in 1991 when I built a hardware circuit based on the idea and it worked great and in 1996 when I published it on the Internet on my home page and so no big deal. I did get one email which claimed it was just a bucket sort but since it did not actually put the item to be sorted in the bucket it did not really seem to be that. Then recently when I was searching for a reference Mr. Black at the NIST said he thought it looked a lot like a counting sort but that it did have differences and so he was not sure. So I figured what the heck other people would probably find it interesting to say the least and when I discovered the article on sorting algorithms I thought gee this is the right place.
So after I wrote the article I started getting questions about why it had never been seen before and who the author was, etc. so I explained that although Mr. Black was helping me pin down whether it might be a counting sort or not. Then all of the sudden someone posted a deletion page and claimed that it was original research which I can not yet refute unless I agree that it is a counting sort but then of all the ironies, suspicious ironies I might add, the guy that wants to delete it because it is in his opinion original research also wants to delete it because it he thinks it’s a counting sort.
So quite naturally I am a bit concerned that his real motive may be jealousy rather based on really honest to goodness legitimate reason. I think original research is a bit far fetched and I also think that the sort routine falls into the category of an address sort because it is the only sort routine I know of that because it sends the data to be sorted to the address bus instead of the data bus and can be implemented in hardware.
So bottom line is that I don’t care if it is deleted but I sure think that deleting it will only deprive others of its existence and for that reason needs to be retained. So that’s the problem I need help with and thanks in advance for any suggestions you might have.. Thanks ...IMHO (Talk) 23:20, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

Where? I can't find it? ...IMHO (Talk) 23:30, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
Yeah that helps. But It does leave me with another question. It seems like then that there is a double standard since images can be uploaded and published that are original and in fact have to be claimed as such. I mean it just seems a bit inconsistent if you know what I mean. ...IMHO (Talk) 23:39, 28 May 2006 (UTC)

je 22:05, 8 August 2006 (UTC)jce358 Aug 8 p.m. ...
Hi Chris
I've got an article to post at Wikipedia. I tried to post it but found out that its 152k in size. It's a series of blogs that were posted at the 1st Virtual Congress on World Citizenship and Democratic Global Governance now at http://www.worldcit.citymax.com/1st_Congress_Forum.html?page=3, originally at page 2 during the month of July 2006. The wiki directives to manage posting these blogs are too complicated for me to understand and, as one article, its so long I don't know what to do about it.
In my opinion the article (blogs) is an unprecedented insight into the Subud Organization and a revealing look into the nature of consciousness per se because of the widely differing styles of the two main writers, myself and Peter Womack. What can you do to help me get it ready for posting?
Best regards - Hadrian Judge
PS. Please contact me at hadrianjudge@smartchat.net.au as I'm afraid the architecture here is extremely daunting for me.
[edit] 66th Military Intelligence Group - Darmstadt, Germany
Hi, I see that you removed the category from this article. Please can you tell me which category it should go in? I do not like to see articles without categories as it prevents cross-referencing. If you remove the only category an article has, please add the nocat tag so that someone else may pick it up. Thanks Mallanox 13:21, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
- Added Category:Groups_of_the_United_States_Army to the article. Bjelleklang - talk 19:17, 20 August 2006 (UTC)
Bjelleklang: I respect your accomplishments as you have stated them but you are making a mistake in editing the 66th Military Intelligence article. My friend, who is still my roommate did that article from the beginning and he knows the data better that you could ever hope to know. He was the Officer in Charge of those elements he stated. He is "first Hand" professional source, no one could know this better. He can prove it if he feels it is necessary.
Thank You
- Hi.
- In regards of the article, anyone who has ever heard about them probably knows more of them than me! The reason for why I removed the original category was because it was more or less claiming that the unit was an army group, which it was clearly not! I then later added a new category, and also removed unsourced material:
- Many of the personnel assigned to 66th MI Group, Munich, were thought to have more than one stated duty position. This would make it possible to perform one activity "in the open" and another activity covertly.
-
- If you or your friend can find a source for this, I will have no problems with it, but I'd object to including it without any sources whatsoever. Bjelleklang - talk 16:20, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] IRC
Can you make your java chat avilable for all wikipedia channels ? There is so many other channels but some users who don't know to use any chat client can't find other way to join that channels. Thanks --SasaStefanovic • 23:04, 26 August 2006 (UTC)
- Replied here and duplicated on user talkpage.
- I'm open to adding new channels to the whitelist, but as the client is primarily targeted against new users unfamiliar with IRC, I feel that adding too many channels to the list could confuse them. But if you have specific suggestions, please let me know, and I'll think it over :) Bjelleklang - talk 00:10, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Well, i'm from sr: wiki so i will ask you to add to "whitelist" channel #wikipedia-sr. Thanks --SasaStefanovic • 00:24, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
- Bjelleklang, there seems to be something wrong with pjirc - it won't auto-join the channel selected on index.php, so the user has to type in /join #wikipedia-bootcamp manually, for example. Also, index-2.php has a <style> element right at the top of the page, when it should be in the <head> section. Please take a look when you have time. Cheers, Tangotango 12:00, 30 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] pjirc problem maybe
Hey Bjelleklang!
When using the pjirc it doesn't seem to log me into the #wikipedia-bootcamp channel, it just connects me to freenode (and I have to manually join). This is not good for people new to IRC. I tried with a registered nickname ("Commander_Keane") and a unregistered nickname ("CK_test_481") but the result was the same, I wasn't automatically placed in the bootcamp channel. Can this be fixed?
I did notice "join : insufficient parameters", I'm not sure if that indicates the problem. I am using Firefox 2.0/XP SP2. Cheers, --Commander Keane 01:02, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
- Problem fixed, just forgot to initialize a variable. Probably the move from the old toolserver to the new that triggered it. Bjelleklang - talk 13:30, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Help
Hello Wikipedia guru, I have just created a page and it was deleted. The page was under Benjamin Robert Colman Wells. I think it may have been because of some false information. However, can I take the links off from the page and imply that what is wrtten is true. I am refering to the relationship with Adriana Lima. The picture provided was temporary as I didn't have one available at the time. I guess what I'm saying is that I want to make a serious page about myself. Other than this everything else is true and accurate. Could you please explain why my page was deleted and can I edit it; or could I make a new page with everything unlinked to internal or external sources. I await your response. thanks, Ben
- Are you notable? It is a somewhat direct question, but Wikipedia requires that any person to be included must be notable in some way, especially when concerning a living person. I'd advise you not to write a bio about yourself, as this is very likely not to be objective enough, and also, if a person is notable, it is very likely that someone else will write the bio. Please see WP:BIO for more information. Bjelleklang - talk 11:22, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] wikipedia question from novice
How can I change the spelling of my username? I entered it as "Johndavenport". I would like it to be "johndavenport".
Incidentally: You have used so much jargon that I have had a hard time even getting to this place to enter a question. Too many slang terms known only to Wikipedia cognisgenti are just plain confusing to the uninitiated -- e.g., me.
Johndavenport 23:35, 24 November 2006 (UTC) I see I made a bad decision to use my real name! Is there any way to delete my original entry and let me start over with a fictious nickname account???!

[edit] Please review Green Line (Israel)
The article Green Line (Israel ) is not a NPOV article. I do not know if I should bother fixing it. Please read the article and the discussion I put on the article talk page. The article would be valuable if it was more on the line of Green Line (Cyprus). As it stands now the article is so POV that it does not belong in wikipedia.
Please give me some ideas on how to go about fixing it you agree with me.

[edit] Green Line (Israel)
I would just change it to something similar to this:
The term Green Line refers to the 1949 Armistice Line. While specifically the green line marks the ceasefire line of 1949 between Israel and the West Bank, the green line is often considered the de facto borders of pre-1967 Israel.

Please let me know if this is suitable.
Wmb1957 19:18, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
- I wouldn't have any problems with this, but I'm not familiar with the article or the subject. I'd just go ahead and make the changes, and if anyone removes it, just ask them why in a friendly way :) Bjelleklang - talk 19:50, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks; and maybe we need a SQL queriable mirror for Wiki
Thanks for responding to my newbie question on the new contributor's questions page. Maybe we want to promote the idea of a mirror that is queriable, so we can grep for strings in edits in date ranges, or for strings from certain IP addresses; e.g. to watch for references to a commercial product coming from an address that appears to be promoting the product, or keywords from a date range when someone seemed to be trying to prosletyze an idea. Peter H. St.John, M.S. 04:28, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- It's not a bad idea, but we already have something similar ;) Have a look at meta:Toolserver. Bjelleklang - talk 04:40, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks again; I was looking at bots...maybe, a bot that takes a list of keywords provided by complaints (e.g., in todays complaints would be the word "satanism"), and compiles a list of edits with that keyword, on recent dates, or many edits by few IP addresses...) but I'll check out your link. --Pete P.S. I wish we had a more fluid internal chat mechanism.
- What about IRC? Have a look at http://tools.wikimedia.de/~bjelleklang/pjirc/, and join me and others at #wikipedia-bootcamp, or if you use another client, #wikimedia-toolserver. Bjelleklang - talk 04:57, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Yes. Please help. I am new to Wikipedia and saw that the list of Technical Emmy Winners for 2002 was not complete. Since I was on the Emmy Technical Committee that year I felt it necessary to correct the mistake. TM Systems was a winner for the development of its "Digital Solution to Language Translation, Dubbing & Subtitling", the first time such technology was recognized in this area of post production for television and motion pictures.
I continuously attempt to show that this company should be included and am always told that this company was not a winner. Well, Bjelleklang, that is simply false. Call the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. Ask for Exec. VP, John Leverence, and he will confirm. Go to the Variety website and google TM Systems in the winners list. If you have access to the Academy website and are a member, you can log in and get the winners list. You can also visit the TM Systems website at www.tm-systems.com or simply google 2002 Technical Emmy Winners and you will find all you need to know to prove this.
This has been a frustrating experience to say the least. I thank you for your interest and support.

[edit] Need advise
Dear Sir
I do not have a problem with the wikipedia.
But I need help and advise how to do it.
I tried to insert a line in the gravity page and it was deleted and I was warned for vandalism, which this was not the intention, I was trying to inform.
I have never worked with wikipedia before, even others in the past have tried to put thing on it on my behalf without my knowledge and others who have attacked me through wikipedia.
I am a nuclear physicist, and I have developed a new method for creation of gravity and through it have developed technologies around this new discovery.
My patent application for this technology has been published by European patent office, and I had to make presentation at HQ of the EPO before the patent was published.
My Patent application numbers is 1770717 publication on the 4.4.2007, bulletin number 2007/14 , page 292, The title of the invention is “Gravitation and Energy system”.
My patent application numbers is 1770715 publication on the 4.4.2007, bulletin number 2007/14 , page 291, The title of the invention is “ Micro plasma reactor”.
The third patent application which is considered as the most comprehensive patent in creation and control of gravity and production of matter is to be published by EPO in the very near future.
I am the inventor and the patent holder.
I do not belong to no organisation, so I publish all my papers on my site www.Keshetechnologies.com
I teach professors and scientists around Europe about this new technology and in 10 days I am invited by the Chine's government to go to China for the development of the space and energy production for collaboration.
You can contact me through my email on wikipedia or through mtkeshe@keshetechnologies.com
My question is how do I insert an article like below in the wikipedia or, as I tried, to let other scientists know about the new theory about gravity.
My technology has been assessed and reviewed by the VUB university of Brussels and confirmed to be feasible, the Nuclear centre of the Belgium government, investigation paid by the ministry of energy, they have tested my static cola bottle , and production of nano materials at room temperature and atmospheric pressure has been tested by reputable nano institute in the world and confirmed to be containing nano matter SP2 on its surface. Which this is even unknown in the world of physics and it is done using my principal of gravity in a cola bottle. I have all the original reports and confirmations from all institutes.
Can you advise how to put this on the wikipedia.
I thank you for your time and advise
Yours faithfully M T Keshe
This is the text I had in mind , or if you can advise me if One can put such matter on your site.
The latest theories and principles of the creation of gravity, has been published through European patent application in April of 2007 under the title of “Gravitation and Energy system”.
This new theory has been proposed by the nuclear engineer Mehran Tavakoli Keshe.
Keshe theory ; Creation and control of gravitational fields through interaction of double superimposed magnetic fields Keshe Technologies.
I have made prototypes, to complete the cycle of the origin of the creation of gravitational forces of planets, first discovered by Newton.
I made assumptions that in the inner construction of the planet there is an additional factor, which has been overlooked and he has developed technologies around this new discovery to prove his theory.
Indication are that for the first time the world of science has come to understand the principle of the creation of gravity through seismological data's from the earthquakes collected in the past thirty years.
I made assumptions some thirty years ago, that earth inner core is not solid and in reality is a spherical ball which possesses a cavity.
Where this cavity contains mixture of materials in plasmatic and liquid state. Where the motion of these materials within this core, creates its own magnetic field, very much like as has been assumed by scientific world in the interaction and conditions created between the materials of outer core and motion of the inner core of the planet.
What Ihave concluded is that the interaction between the magnetic fields generated by the outer core and the new cavity (which he has named the Caroline core) in the inner cores of the planet separated by the physical partition of the solid inner core, is the creator of the magnetic field and the gravitational field of the planet.
Through development of reactors ( Keshe Technologies ), I expalin and indicated how the polarity changes due to the interaction of these magnetic fields and the materials within them in the planarity systems occur.
In my papers I explains why and how planets rotate and what dictates their speed of rotation.
Scientists around the world in the early twenty first century are very fast coming to understand the gravity of this new discovery and its implications in the future of the Man’s destiny.
The interesting point about the approach is that do not provide any mathematical calculation in any of my papers.
In the universe there are no measuring tools to decide what, and how much of any material is going to be in the construction of a planet, a solar system or a galaxy. In the open planes of cosmos, where planets are created, this happens with what materials and elements which are available at a given time in a given position. Where, the mixture of these always ends-up with a creation, in any scale, from an atom to a galaxies, of a system which possess gravity, magnetic field and rotation, and so I do the same”.
Cosmologist always reminds us that there are more than one million planets created every day in the universe with all these properties, thus it can not be that hard to make one of the same, and so I do the same, number one million and one for that day”. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by M keshe (talk • contribs) 12:09, 13 May 2007 (UTC).
- Hi
- I think that the problem might be that you didn't reference any sources not directly related to yourself. Wikipedia has a strict policy towards original research; that is any research not already published. As Wikipedia is supposed to be an encyclopedia, it can only contain information already published; and only if it is verifiable. If you want your theory to be included in the encyclopedia, I'd suggest that you start it in your userspace, for example here, write it up properly with external sources (not using only keshe technologies as the only source), give an indication that it's notable, and then move it into the regular articlespace. You can start it directly in the normal namespace if you want, for example at Keshe theory, but out there it's likely to be deleted more or less at once if it doesn't conform to the Wikipedia policies. Once you've written that article, and assuming that it hasn't been deleted, you can begin to make references to it in other articles as well.
- All this might seem like very much work; but as this is a fairly new theory, with few online references, it's likely to be checked and deleted if the article is unable to prove that it's notable through independent sources. Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions. Bjelleklang - talk Bug Me 12:38, 13 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] your responce
Thank you very much for your response.
If I understand correctly, that is if I can connect my theories and article in sections to other scientific papers which are published by other scientists, then I stands a better chance of not being deleted.
But does European patent publication is considered as a publication or not, just if I can refer to it.
There are number of monthly journal publications in Europe whom have published articles about the different parts of technology, do these connection count Thank for you advise and time.
Yours faithfully M T keshe —The preceding unsigned comment was added by M keshe (talk • contribs) 16:19, 13 May 2007 (UTC).
- I doubt that any patent publications would qualify as enough proof of notability, as there is a huge number of patents that just isn't notable in any way. But if you can find citations from a notable scientific journal, then you should be okay.

[edit] Merge proposal.
Hello,
A few weeks back, you proposed the merging of WP:NCH and WP:EA with WP:HD; there has been a fair amount of opposition to the proposal. Are you still invested in this? --Aarktica 16:39, 19 May 2007 (UTC)
- Although I'm still not convinced that all three should exist as separate projects, I've withdrawn the proposal, as no consensus can be reached. Thanks for notifying me :) Bjelleklang - talk Bug Me 17:14, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

- Well, according to the contribs, you haven't uploaded any image. Please make sure that you read through the wikipedia image policy, and that you are logged in while trying to upload the image. Also, I don't think it is possible to upload an image through a URL, you have to store the image on the computer you are uploading from. Hope this helps. [edit] maps
Hi Thanks for responding and you are rght. In Google MAPS, the Skala, Laconia is placed at the correct coordinates. I couldn't work out where to get any names to show on the the Wikimapia. HOWEVER the Wikipedia tag for Skala Laconia in GOOGLE EARTH is still showing in the bay of Tilos. I can remove it from sight in my edition (4.1.7076.4458 (beta))by unticking the Wikipedia layer under 'Geographic Web' but that doesn't remove the tag from Tilos Bay. How can this be done? [edit] Link analyzer
Hej. [edit] Bon Appetit Management Company Deletion
Hi there,
I'd like to protest the deletion of the wiki article about Bon Appetit Management Company.
Many business have wiki pages, including Whole Foods Markets, McDonald's, etc. I looked very closely at Whole Foods Market's wiki page and followed that format quite closely.
I understand the Wiki criteria re: company promotion, and have taken great care to make sure that the content is educational and informative, especially on their innovative environmental initiativies.
Pls advise on how to bring this wiki into compliance (as with other, already-approved company profiles on wikipedia).

[edit] New entry
You deleted me. I was writing about a company and the page I created was deleted. This is not created for advertising reason but simply as a company statement. I was trying to do something like the Skechers page for example. I don't know how I did not meet the criteria. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

[edit] The Vital Might
Why was The Vital Might deleted as a stub?
There are hundreds are very non-notable bands that have stub articles.
My normal article was deleted but I thought a stub would be ok.
Try "Colt Thompson Project". That band is far less notable than The Vital Might.Thevitalmight 14:31, 26 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Linda Wilson
Hey it would be nice with some help, I'm all green in here, so if you could help me by doing something with the Linda Wilson article that will not delete it, but help me do what is the right thing in here, it would be a great help! Du er en guttermand.
- Hey no offence but could you write it in danish prehaps, that would be a lot eaysier to read for me.
-
- Could you specify what was wrong with the articel? Because I did not get much out of reading those policies, just as a help so I can do better when posting things in the future.

- Ok, thanks. I'll work on tomorrow, but gotta get some sleep now.

[edit] moving house if apropriate
Thanks for your advise , I think this time most of the points are put right. Do you think it is the right time to face the wild world and move the whole thing as you suggested before to Keshe Theory page on its own on to the main wikipedia pages.
By the way I have not figured where to put the waves to give you my coordinates. keshe
[edit] Moved
Hi Thanks for the advise. Instead of jumping full way , I have gone half way for the time being, to test the response, and I just move to the title of Keshe Theory , but still under user protection and not full page to be deleted.
Now can you tell me please, can I for example go to this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artificial_gravity in the wikipedia main pages and leave links to my page just like putting “Keshe Theory and the link over to the page” .
Is this allowed or is it considered as vandalism. or any other reference pages like gravity and magnetism on the wikipedia.
Thank you Keshe Theory 07:23, 29 May 2007 (UTC) keshe

hi thanks that was a good advise before i would have made the big mistake.
Could you please give me the links to the two points you refered to that I can move it to, I can not find them

[edit] Buslink
I am not certain why Buslink's new page is not considered noteworthy enough for use in Wikipedia. I do however express some amount of being impressed with how quickly it was tagged and bagged, so to speak. Please recover the text for me. I will work to make it more acceptable if you would perhaps let me know for what it is lacking. I think perhaps the automated processes in place led to a quicker-than-reasonable deletion.--SidP 15:49, 29 May 2007 (UTC)
