Bjorn McKie (born 7 April 1977), commonly known as BJ McKie, is an American basketball player. Born in Norfolk, Virginia and raised in Columbia, South Carolina, McKie graduated from Irmo High School and starred for the University of South Carolina men's basketball team. In 1997 and 1998, he led the program to back-to-back NCAA tournaments and national prominence. McKie is number one in career points scored (2,119) and in free throws made. He was a 1998 All-American and 3-time All-SEC Honoree, as well as 1996 SEC Freshman of the Year and a member of the SEC All-Freshman team. McKie's number was retired on December 28, 2005 during the game against Pitt. He currently plays professional basketball in Italy.
