From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Wouterus Jacobus Antonius ("Björn") van der Doelen (born August 24, 1976 in Goirle, Noord-Brabant) is a retired football midfielder from the Netherlands, who started his professional career for PSV Eindhoven in the 1994/95 season in the Dutch highest league, Eredivisie. Later on he played for Standard Liège (Belgium), FC Twente and NEC Nijmegen.

Recently, he started a career as singer/songwriter with intimate and personal songs on guitar larded with sincerity, bonding, warmth, melancholy, yearning, poignancy and earnesty, but also with a right size of rough masculinity. As a rock musician, he performs these songs with his partners in crime: Maarten van der Zanden (guitar), Steffen Pauws (bass) and Jules Fransen (drums). Soon (i.e. June 2007), the CD single "Nijmegen" will be released which is a homage to a Dutch city that he still loves to visit. Gabriël Peeters, well-known for those who like JW Roy and Ben Jolink, takes care of the production.
