Thanks for uploading Image:2006sanfran pics pre144.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. [edit] License tagging for Image:2006nypro prepics1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:2006nypro prepics1.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Alex Fedorov

No worries - you'll notice I moved it due to a wee spelling error. I've created or expaned darn near most of the bodybuilding pages here I think myself! Oh my user page you'll see Craig Titus, Dan Duchaine, EAS, Flex Wheeler, King Kamali, Lee Labrada, List of professional bodybuilders, MET-Rx, Mike Katz, Mike Mentzer, cPhosphagen, T-Nation, Vince Taylor just as a start! Couple of things:

  1. The image on Alex will be deleted (see it's page for why) - if you have a look at Craig Titus, Craig Titus, Flex Wheeler, King Kamali, or Lee Labrada for examples you'll see I use an image of them from the cover of a mag like Flex or Ironman. Do you know of a recent mag Alex was on the cover of that we can use (as that's fair use)
  2. Try to follow the changes I made as a reference point for future articles - namely add your references (or usually their official website), the categories (like year of birth, country of birth etc) and I see you got the See also right (nicely done)
  3. Look for images like those above as they won't be deleted.

Keep up the great work! - Glen Stollery 16:23, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Awesome enjoy the show! Oh, one last thing? - whenever you write on a user or article talk page (like this one) always put four tildes (like this: ~~~~) at the end. They automatically expand out to make your user name and date - otherwise i'd never know where to reply! Have a cool day mate - Glen Stollery 16:40, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] AWESOME EFFORT!

Great work on the Flex mag image mate! All I could find was this!! well done! - Glen Stollery 16:43, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

Fantastic you are even tagging the copyright correctly by putting magazine cover. (To be doubly sure I also usually write something like "Flex magazine cover Oct 2005" and then also add "fair use" - but you are doing it exactly right.) Great images too (noticed Darrem Charles' one too) - what site are they from? Once again, awesome work :) - Glen Stollery 16:48, 10 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Magazine covers

Hello Bizkit 21 2002. Please do not upload any additional magazine covers to serve as portraits for the people on their covers. Wikipedia policy regarding fair use, based largely from U.S. law, does not allow for the use of copyrighted magazine covers unless they are a part of critical commentary about the magazine itself. You have also had a number of other image uploads deleted recently. Please thoroughly review Wikipedia:Image use policy and Wikipedia:Fair use before uploading any additional copyrighted images. Remember, Wikipedia is a free content encyclopedia, and only uses copyrighted images in very particular circumstances, usually when a free alternative does not exist, and can not be created. If you have any questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. ×Meegs 11:57, 18 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Md4008.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Md4008.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you.
