Biz Radio Network

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Biz Radio Network is a small, privately held network consisting of two AM radio stations. The network is headquartered in Houston, Texas.

Although the network consists of only two stations, the network covers two of the 10 largest media markets in the United States, Greater Houston and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.

The network features business-oriented programming from 6AM to 7PM seven days a week, mainly related to investing, under the tagline "The Sound of Your Money Growing". During the other hours, the stations broadcast non-business related programming (big band music in DFW and Vietnamese programming in Houston).

The network states that its demographics consist of 61% men and 39% women, with nearly half (48%) in the over-55 category, 43% with college degrees and 33% with a higher degree, and over 2/3rds with net income exceeding $50,000. The network caters to individuals (who are referred to by the network as "The Union of People Who Use Their Brains To Get A Better Deal") with high degrees of income, who spend on luxury items yet desire to maintain their "nest egg" by spending their money wisely.

There have been rumors that the Biz Radio Network will be moving to JLF Communications-owned stations KTON (Lancaster, Texas), and KGOW (Bellaire, Texas) from a lease agreement with their Multicultural Broadcasting affiliates KMNY and KXYZ. [1] ALthough the move to the said stations never happened, Biz Radio bought out the following stations on December 11, 2007 in the Houston area and May 23, 2008 in Dallas.
