Talk:Bite the cartridge
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I removed the sentence about 'biting the bullet.' 'Bite the bullet' comes from the (old) practice, in place before the development of anesthesia, of giving a soldier a lead bullet to bite down on when amputations or surgeries were performed. It basically means the same thing as 'grin and bear it.' Jrkarp 21:58, 23 March 2006 (UTC)
