[edit] Career
In 2004 the band released their debut album called Somehow Different. Thanks to this album, the band won the Best Band Award at the Bay Music Awards 2004 edition. During that year the band gigged a lot with their debut album, which was also sold relatively well.
Although the band had made a great hit, they were disappointed since they have have got alienated from their original genre, which was quite a bit darker. And so they decided that they should concentrate to write down new material. Daniel had a lot of material which his mates did not know about, and so the other members of the group (Kenneth, Jesmond and Alan (former band member)) listened to his ideas for a whole month before dedicating themselves on particular songs. The tension was quite high in the band's studio and there was also some collision of opinion between the band members since nobody was quite sure how the new material should sound like.
Then Daniel came out with the song Shutters. When he played it to his mates, they soon realised that this was going to be hit, and immediately they started working on its production. It was the best song out of the forty that the band demoed. The band was so pleased with Shutters that they wrote 4 different versions of this single. With the help and production of Howard Keiths, the band made a hit once again, with this new single. In 2006, with the success of Shutters and another song called Vs. Life, the band were for the second time presented with the Best Band Award at the Bay Music Awards 2006 edition.
The band also had the opportunity to participate in major events like the P1 Grand Prix, the XFM Music Festival, the Fete de Musique Concert and the Beer Festival.
Bitterside are currently in the studio finishing off new songs which are intended to be included in their forthcoming album.
