Bitburg High School , originally opened in 1956, is part of the Kaiserslautern School District and has a student population of approximately 300 with a faculty of thirty-five. It is situated in Rhineland-Palatinate , Germany. Although Bitburg High School is located in Bitburg Air Base, some of the students that attend this school live in Spangdahlem Air Base or villages in the surrounding areas. Bitburg High School was one of the first schools in DoDDS to successfully implement and maintain the Block 8/Seminar schedule, during the 1994-1995 school year. Bitburg High School has a fully functional intranet system in which students can save files to their own server partition.

Bitburg High School offers a variety of athletics, courses, and extra curricular activities. Some of the courses offered at the school can only be taken through distance learning. However, more courses are being offered at the school every year, but less will be offered after the end of the 2007-2008 school year, due to many teachers leaving the school or retiring. Athletic activities range from tennis to soccer, basketball to volleyball, cross country to wrestling, and even swimming through the local pool Cascade. Extra curricular activities come and go due to the transient student population, but some of the notable ones are National Honor Society and Student Council. The school Mascot is the Baron. The school colors are blue and white, with a small amout of red.

Due to the fact that Bitburg Air Base closed in October 1994, and that there are plans to close the rest of the installation by 2012, the high school will also close. The planned year is 2010.
