The Bishop of Ebbsfleet is a suffragan bishop who fulfills the role of a provincial episcopal visitor for the whole Church of England Province of Canterbury, England.[1]
The position was created in 1994 and licensed by the Archbishop of Canterbury as a "flying bishop" to visit parishes throughout the province who cannot in good conscience accept the ministry of bishops who have participated in the ordination of women. The role is named after Ebbsfleet in Thanet, Kent.
