Bishop of Dunwich (Anglican)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Bishop of Dunwich is a title given to a suffragan bishop in the Church of England Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich; which is within the Province of Canterbury, England.[1]

The title takes its name after the small town of Dunwich in Suffolk, and was first used between the 7th and 11th centuries by the Anglo-Saxon historic Bishops of Dunwich. This historic diocese was moved to Thetford and eventually to Norwich. Today, the Suffragan Bishop of Dunwich assists the Diocesan Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich.
